Wow! I already blogged about the fact that Gabby Douglas was bullied by her former teammates way before the Olympics, but I later found out she was also called a slave!
Last night on Gabby’s interview for Oprah’s Next Chapter, she revealed to Oprah that her teammates secluded her and she felt she could have been treated differently because she was black.
Gabby also told Oprah:
“One of my teammates was like, ‘Can you scrape the bar?’ And they were like, ‘Why doesn’t Gabby do it, she’s our slave?'”
THE DEVIL IS BUSY IN THE GYMNASTICS ATMOSPHERE!!!
The interesting part is that years later, Gabby made history as the first-ever African-American to win the All-Around Gold trophy. It’s also sad that when she won this gold a lot of the black community criticized her for her hair smh.
Gabby’s response to her hair critics:
Since Gabby’s breaking confession about being bullied at her former gym, reps from the gym say Gabby is lying
“The accusations that are being made against the gymnasts and coaches are just sickening. Gabby was never a victim, in fact many would say she was one of the favorites. I never once heard her complain about girls being mean, funny how it is just now coming up.”
Excalibur gym says they are welcoming of African Americans and that her comments are without merit.
Who do you believe? I mean I don’t know to many people that would admit their program is racist.
